| Personal History | Born to Mariner Neptune and Angel Warren on Europa, Zane felt out of place almost everywhere they went. He often looking to the stars when he wasn’t welcome and found himself wanting to know more about them. When the family eventually settled on Earth, Zane became entranced at an early age with the accomplishments of bodybuilders and decided to follow in their footsteps. Zane quickly developed and started competing, with little interest in anything else… except for astronomy. Whenever he wasn’t lifting weights he was studying astronomy. Rising early to the highest level of competition, the Mr. Olympia competition, he started like everyone else by simply placing in the competition before turning into one of the elite and started finishing in the top three. He eventually won the title of Mr. Olympia three times before being unable to compete by newer, younger upstarts that had started their development much earlier. Unable to finish higher than fifth, Zane moved towards his hobby instead: stellar cartography. Zane was well studied in physical fitness, nutrition, anatomy, and biology but he still wanted that one closer step towards astronomy and stellar cartography. He began attending universities in order to expand his opportunities in the field and that’s when he was pointed towards Starfleet by his father. There were many from university that were joining Starfleet and Zane decided to give the exploration/military organization some further consideration. |

| Starfleet History | With a lot of the physical and biological studies taken care of with his previous profession, Zane was a hard studier to make sure that he could complete the Starfleet Academy courses that might have given him some problems. Like on Europa, and even in the university system, Zane was categorized as something he wasn’t. In the Academy, he was seen as the “meathead” and treated as if he were too stupid to do anything meaningful… so Zane doubled his efforts in the books, more than even his weightlifting pursuits. Zane had spent his first two years at the Academy in the top half of his class but when he strove to prove he wasn’t the dummy some of his classmates saw he rose to first in the class. As part of his graduation speech, Zane pointed out that anyone could do what he did and that none of them should have assumed that anyone can fit into a neat role. The Academy was so impressed with his improvement he was asked to help instruct for a year, during which time Zane took the chance to work towards choosing the best assignment that would get him to the stars. When the time drew near to leave, Zane was ready to map the stars up close. |
