Physical Description		Urnogar is as tall and physically imposing as the rest of his brethren. Looming just over two meters, he has all the anatomical characteristics common to Nausicaans: high forehead, prominent bone structure across the face, and sharp tusks protruding from both sides of his mouth.

Personality & Traits

General Overview		Without the hormones encouraging violence and aggression, Urnogar has become something of a gentle giant. He doesn’t back down from a fight, but he doesn’t go out of his way to find them, either. Having few friends in life (largely due to his appearance), he’s become exceptionally loyal and appreciative of those who will interact with him. Urnogar has been commended by colleagues for his commitment to botany, generosity of spirit both professionally and otherwise, and strong work ethic.

Personal History		Born with a genetic defect that limited the production of the hormones that drive his violent, aggressive race, Urnogar has spent the overwhelming majority of his life trying to find a place in the galaxy for himself. He was abandoned shortly after birth once his parents discovered his passive nature, and he spent his childhood stealing and foraging to survive on Nausicaa. One of the clans eventually “adopted” him and pressed him into service aboard a Talon-class battleship used to prey on freighters and civilian transports. His unusually high aptitude for the sciences and keen intelligence were identified early, and he was compelled to function as the ship’s science officer. Though brutal, his time aboard the ship gave him a great deal of invaluable field experience. Urnogar was eventually forced from the ship after losing at single-combat. He was left wounded and marooned on an M-class planetoid, where he was once again forced to survive by living off the land. A chance encounter with a passing Federation freighter allowed Urnogar to secure passage off the planetoid and into Federation space, where he was granted asylum status. Seeking employment proved difficult as Nausicaans were hired almost exclusively for security purposes; however, though lacking in neither strength nor ability, these contracts clashed with his less-than-aggressive personality. Faced with increasingly dim prospects, Urnogar decided to enlist with Starfleet and dedicate himself to its scientific pursuits. Advanced training rekindled a love for botany harbored since his foraging days on Nausicaa and ultimately guided his career choice within the fleet.
Medical History		Urnogar’s medical records indicated a number of old injuries ranging from broken bones to lacerations to torn tendons & ligaments. Forensic analysis indicates that the overwhelming majority of the wounds were defensive in nature.
