Physical Description		K8 Yellow is a Nasat: a short, squat, crustacean arachnid. Her shell is blue-black, but covered in hard yellow shells. She is capable of curling up in a tight, impenetrable ball or scuttling fast on her eight legs, but usually stands upright on just two legs, with the other three pairs of pincered limbs used as arms. She has a long black tail and very long dark blue antennae. Her eyes are inky blue with heavy, dark lids that give her a sleepy look. She has no external genitalia and wears no clothing except her commbadge.

Other Family		The Nasat concept of family is different from that of most mammalian species. Larvae are taken to hatcheries and develop there, and there are no familial bonds. K8 Yellow has never met her parents, her siblings or extended family, her hundreds of children (she has been fertilized four times, by four different males) or, given her age, her likely grandchildren.

General Overview		K8 Yellow (often called “Kate” by non-Nasat) is an experienced engineer. She is naturally cautious, like most Nasat, but a bit more open-minded, which led to her joining Starfleet. She has since had a long and distinguished career. Her lack of interest in family and relationship matters makes her seem cold at first, but she is quite social and has many friends throughout Starfleet. Having no role in raising her own children or grandchildren, she sometimes adopts a nurturing attitude to young officers, and is happy to share her own experience and wisdom. She is very proud of her Nasat heritage and does not take slurs, such as being called a “bug”, lightly.
