Weekly Update

We've had a great month so far and I'm very pleased to see our new players settling in so well with the rest of the group :D We are almost finished with the first (MD 01-05) phase of our shore leave mission and there are only two storyline JPs left before we will be opening up MD 06-MD 11.

I want to congratulate those players who have been promoted on a great performance over the past mission. As some of you might know, Galileo does not promote based on time-served, instead promotions are earned through participation and activity. I try to offer two promotion periods per calendar year, which means the next opportunity for advancement will probably be sometime in January, ideally at the end of shore leave.

Some of our players have returned from LOA and some are still on leave. Neil (Parker) returned from his honeymoon yesterday and will be rejoining us this week, so help him get up to speed with things. I have placed Lori (Carlisle) on LOA but am uncertain of her return date. Nelle (Peers) is also on ELOA; she was very sick this month and has been struggling to balance her health and work. I was in touch with her last week and she is feeling much better, and hopes to rejoin us next month.

Regarding sim activity, I just sent out a message on our Yahoo Groups page which details the changes to our enforcement policy. Please be sure to read them so you are not caught off guard by anything. It should be pretty straight-forward but let Tom or I know if you have any questions.

Lastly, I live in DC and am in the middle of Hurricane Sandy's path. Landfall is expected to be sometime early next morning and while I don't anticipate anything too severe, there is a good chance that I might be without power for a day or two. If that happens, Tom and Sarah will be in charge so please direct any queries to them.
