Sim Milestone - Five-Year Anniversary

Hi all, it's with much pride and joy that I announce our sim's 5th-year anniversary! Yes, our valiant crew has now been undertaking our scientific adventures for five full years...quite a remarkable feat within the Trek simming genre and within the online RPG world.

Each year has brought with it some very fun roleplay as well as new friends and simmers who we've all come to know and love. We've persevered through some of our early hiccups as a fledgling sim and through our over-expansion woes to finally find a balance and a team of players who represent not only the virtues and core values of Star Trek, but also represent the best that Trek roleplay has to offer.

The past year was a fluid period for many of us. Several of us -- including myself -- had real-life obligations to tend to for months at a time. We then had to deal with the ugly collapse of Obsidian Fleet due to their operational and political mismanagement of affairs. I'm proud of everyone here and our collective resilience to be able to find a new welcoming home for our game and return to a positive atmosphere for our sim which was previously being infringed upon.

Every year that our game keeps running humbles me greatly. When I first started the Galileo concept in early 2012, I had no idea that a small Nova-class sim would become the premier online Trek RPG on the internet. Every week of every year that I've been able to spend writing with all of you has been a wonderful experience and something I had never imagined would last so long and be so much fun. None of it has ever been taken for granted, and I hope all of us continue to share in our great past times and create new memories as we move forward.
