Weekly Update!

Posted on 05 Jun 2012 @ 12:10pm by Captain Jonathan Holliday

Hello once again fellow crew members!

This time the honour of the weekly sim update falls to me, so lets see how I go....

The sim appears to be going swimmingly, with some great posts being churned out as always, and as Jay has said previously our post output is way way up on previous months so well done to all.

As far as new developments go, there's just one bit of news that I need to make the whole crew aware of, and that's in regards to a new procedure that Jay and I will be enforcing as of well, now!

In order to make our storylines tighter and more dynamic, we are going to ask for a little more player involvement at the start of each new mission, this is going to work as follows....

At the conclusion of the current mission, which is in this case Sienna, there will always be a "downtime" story plot to allow the Galileo to be repaired, rearmed, etc etc and any crew changes to happen.

During this time, either Jay or myself will provide every member of the crew with an overview giving a rough explanation of what the story will be for our next mission, obviously without giving away too much of the plot!

When this happens, we are going to ask that if any players want to make any kind of subplot or personal storyline happen, that they get in contact with me (note that's me, and not Jay - important to remember this!) before making anything happen.
This is needed for two reasons. Firstly, so I can obviously approve the storyline to happen, and secondly so that we can incorporate as much as we possible can into the main storyline to make things nice and fluid and seamless.

If a player doesn't get a storyline across to me in time, then you may find Jay and I asking you to hold fire on it for a little while, or until the next mission starts if we feel it's going to be a little out of place, or somehow contend with the main storyline's proceedings - so be aware that it's a good idea to let me know as soon as you think of something you'd like to do.

The whole idea behind this is so Jay and I can maximise our efficiency when running the sim - as CO he will manage the main storyline, whilst as XO I will be in charge of overseeing all the little nitty gritty stories as needed...

If this doesnt make sense to anyone then please feel free to message me, call me a moron, and ask me to explain again, but hopefully it will all become crystal clear by the time we start our next mission!

Thats all for this update - carry on doing the great work you're doing guys!
