THE INTRO!

Nesh: Welcome to Galileo Impulse. I'm your host, Nesh Saalm-

Thanis: -and I'm Thanis Rothgra. Keeping our ears to the ground and our sensors on full. We know it's hard sometimes for all you players/writers/puppeteers/readers to keep up with everything that's going on aboard the Galileo, so the Galileo Impulse is our fun and quirky way of keeping you up to date. First stop...

Mission Update Synopsis!

Thanis: Right, okay. So here's what's happened since the last edition of Galileo Impulse: We reached the Rojar system.... yep.

Nesh: ...Uh. And. Alien gas giant sex thing!

Thanis: Right! The ephemeral calamari!

Nesh: Calamarain.

Thanis: *still thinking about calamari* ...bake it with a little panko and it's delicious... *shaking back to the present* We saw it, and it was really super cool. But us seeing it made it anxious, and it ate its baby. Or babies. I'm not clear on how many there were to begin with.

Nesh: What else?

Thanis: Um.... oh! Well... stuff happened to individuals... and I think that's your segment.

Character Development Updates!

Nesh: Alright, time for some character synopsis!

CIV Pawlak and ENS Nicholas are the first people who come to mind. They were confined to quarters for two days after getting it on in a public place, this was after they were both like, thrown in the brig. Who knew? So, we were stuck with the replicators for the evening of MD3 and all of MD4 and 5! Blegh!

Speaking of partying, ENS Peers, LTJG Panne and LTJG Liyar were reportedly seen running through the halls with alcohol and a giant pizza between them all. Panne and Zaren had a midnight rendezvous shortly after they all passed out. (We're still waiting for the invitation to the kegger). In other news, Romulans are weird. So are Rigelians. CN Athlen and CN Jaeih met to the tune of intimidating veiled threats, followed by fighting, followed by - well, we're glad they weren't in a public place. *hums Love Shack under breath*

Thanis: *clears throat*

Nesh: Anyway! We have a new teacher aboard, a Deltan named CIV Anera. She claims she can teach me calculus without it being boring, but I totally doubt it. Thanis didn't seem to like her much, either. LTJG Cho met up with PO3 Gan and CIV Zaren, two fresh and homegrown Trill! Not excepting our illustrious host over here *elbows Thanis* apparently he doesn't exist in Cho's world.

Thanis: Am I real? *pinches himself*

Nesh: I don't think she liked Gan or Zaren much.

Afterward, Zaren approached Liyar and revealed with Cho's unwitting help some weird Romulan numbers stations! They're working on decoding it now. Sort of. Conspiracies abound! ENS Tavish Hunter, the ACEO we spoke about during our last broadcast, has disappeared from the map after talking to LTJG Markos. I hope she didn't eat him. Those fangs look sharp.

Liyar and Panne have been working on their martial arts training in the holodeck, so beware of flying feet if you find yourself there. Hii-ya!

LTJG Kohl as we've mentioned returned to the ship, reuniting with his friend Cho after a stint on the Venture getting his medical training updated. Before that, he was on Vega IX with some Betazoid. I'm pretty sure Cho's missing the train there, but we'll see how their relationship unfolds. On the relationship front, as all fronts on Galileo seem to be, Anera and Lir-- CAPT Saalm spent a nice lunch discussing the cultural differences in relationships between Deltans and Orions.

To leave you with a final piece of good news, LTJG Orexil is slowly waking up from her coma and entertaining some brief visitors. Head down to the sickbay to keep her company, it can get lonely down there!

Arrivals and Departures!

Nesh: We have no new arrivals to the ship as of today, but we do have a departure. So farewell to our temporarily valiant assistant chief engineer - Tavish Hunter!

Thanis: *waves and cries* You will be missed.

===Music Cue!===
WHAT'S NEXT: Thanis and Nesh Make Unsubstantiated Hypotheses!

Thanis: Stuff.

Nesh: And nonsense.

Thanis: No, seriously, we'll be doing a lot of surveying of planets and moons and asteroids and space and stuff...

Nesh: Maybe we'll find a crazy group of aliens on an interstellar visionquest. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

REMINDERS

Thanis: So we're working on creatures and stuff for characters to find in their exploration of the moons/asteroids/etc. And we have access to this whole list of descriptions and images and stuff. So if you're planning on going down to the surface of a moon or a planet or an asteroid or something, and you want some ideas about what you might find (and even some cool potentials for mini-plots and discoveries!), you should totally contact one of us and invite us to play dungeon master on your away mission! You have to reach out to us - that's how this works. So please. Let us know and we will unobtrusively throw in scene details and item discoveries for you, because we're awesome like that.

Nesh: Oh, also guys, if there's stuff you or your character want to talk about, we're still (and always) accepting article submissions for the newsletter. Alien languages, starship schematics, television shows (or holovid broadcasts), scientific articles, what's your character's culture even like, anyway? Where'd the Klingons ever go? Pretty much anything and everything you can think of that's Star Trek or Galileo related, just send it in. This is a great way to keep yourself occupied if you find yourself struggling for things to do at the moment as well.

Thanis: Oh, yeah, and remember you can contact me (by calling Lilou Peers) if you want to know what's going on in a place you're heading to. Just drop a line asking - for example - 'anyone having a throw down in the mess hall that I might observe while eating my lunch?' And I'll get back to you.

Nesh: And one more thing! This is totally boring housekeeping stuff, but if we could remember to a) put deck listenings in that location bar when we're posting...

Thanis: Like... USS Galileo - Deck 4 - Sickbay...

Nesh: ...and b) put a little tag under our NPCs when signing off-

Thanis: *waves* Hi! I'm played by Lilou Peers!

Nesh: -that would make this all much more organized and easier to navigate for everyone! *grin* Thanks!
