Draft - Rules and Regulations
Draft created by Captain Lirha Saalm on 18 Mar 2012 @ 6:53am
USS Galileo Rules and Regulations
Section 1 - General Rules
- All players must be in compliance with Obsidian Fleet's Rules and Regulations. A comprehensive list of these can be found here.
- Our sim is rated 13+ therefore all players must be at least 13 years old to participate.
- All players must respect the ship's Command Staff at all times. We are here to provide the most enjoyable experience possible for all players, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
- All players must respect their fellow players at all times. Please be polite and cordial when dealing your fellow writers. Any player who does not comply will be put on moderation status, assessed a strike, and possibly removed from the sim.
- All players must adhere to the Posting Guidelines listed in the section below.
- All players must be active and HAVE FUN!
Section 2 - Posting Guidelines
- All posts must contain proper English spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- All posts must contain signatures of all characters involved.
- All content must fall within the sim's 13+ rating. You may write scenes depicting limited sex and violence, however no pornography, gore, or foul language may be used. When in doubt, think of a PG-13 movie and err on the side of caution.
- All players are considered active unless stated otherwise. Any player who is not able to respond to tags for more than four days is required to request a Leave of Absence (LOA). Players who will be away from the sim for longer than two weeks must request an Extended Leave of Absence (ELOA). All LOAs must indicate a return date.
- No player may abuse the LOA system.
- All players must post a minimum of one joint post every two weeks. Solo posts and personal logs are great, but do not count towards the requirements. Any player who fails to record a joint post within 14 days will be given a strike and one week to post. If an active player fails to record a joint post within three weeks, they will be removed from the sim.
- Players who are on LOA or ELOA are exempt from the posting requirements until they return to the sim.
- All tags must be answered in a timely fashion, within 48 hours. If a player is unable to respond within that period, they are required to notify all co-authors of the post. Failure to tag on-time without notification will result in a strike.
- Joint post tags must be more than a single line of dialogue. Tags must be a combination of speech, action, and/or thoughts.
- No player may overwrite another player, or change or edit their work without permission.
- No player may seriously harm or injure another player's character without permission from that character's player.
- No player may seriously damage or destroy any vessels (including the Galileo) or technology without permission from the Command Staff.
- All subplots must be approved by the Command Staff. We rarely say no, but it is still polite to ask.
Section 3 - Disputes
- All players must respect each other at all times.
- All players must attempt to settle any OOC disputes between themselves before contacting the Command Staff.
- The Command Staff has the final word in any/all disputes. Please respect their decision and move forward.
- Any player who feels unsatisfied with a dispute's resolution is encouraged to contact Obsidian Fleet's JAG Office and may do so without penalty from the Command Staff.
Section 4 - Strike Policy
- Once a player has received three strikes, they are removed from the sim.
- Strikes clear at a rate of one per three months from the date of the last strike received.
- Any player with two strikes is automatically put on moderation status until one of their strikes clears.
- A player's strike record is kept private and is not viewable by any other players on the sim, except members of the Command Staff.
