Personality & Traits

General Overview Having been forced to fend for himself for so many years, particularly in the latter part of adolescence, he has a self-possessed air of confidence that's often misplaced since he generally has no idea what he's doing. Ellsworth sees himself as a survivor. Unfortunately, he has the attitude of most young people his age, which can lead him to be flippant, disrespectful and unreliable. He has an informal way of interacting with others, including officers, which has earned him a few reprimands in his short Starfleet career. He is flirtatious almost to a fault.
Strengths Ellsworth has a strong sense of justice and feels a need to look out for the little guy. Owing to his repeated rejection in the adoption system on Betazed, he’s grown to be eager to please others.
Weaknesses Ellsworth still carries a chip on his shoulder from the difficulties he’s been forced to endure; unfortunately, this can lead to a belligerent attitude and general disagreeableness. His poor education (a sore subject for him) has made him reliant on intuition and "winging it," both of which are often wrong in the highly regulated Starfleet environment. He can be irrationally vain about his outward appearance. Years of relying on his sexuality for advancement has been a hard habit to break in a system valued for its meritocracy.
Ambitions Ellsworth is driven by a strong desire for adventure and thrill-seeking. To that end, he intends to see as many places as he can during his time with Starfleet. Having shown an aptitude for organization, he hopes to demonstrate excellence through his career as a way to make up for his lack of a quality academic education.
Hobbies & Interests Ellsworth enjoys literary pursuits, including reading and writing; acting and theater; dance; and water sports.
Orientation Homosexual
Language(s) Spoken Federation Standard, Risan

Personal History Ellsworth was born Alax Elren on 2 January 2370 in the city of Medara to Denin & Ladana Elren. An uneventful childhood came to a halt when Ellsworth’s parents perished in the Dominion invasion of Betazed in 2374. During the occupation he was raised by strangers in an internment camp and later relinquished to an orphanage in Betazed’s capital city, Rixx, following the planet’s liberation. Rebellious, arrogant and generally difficult, Ellsworth went through several foster homes without permanent adoption. At the age of 16, he boarded a Risan interplanetary transport as a stowaway, seeking the adventure and excitement promised in his favorite novels.

On Risa he legally changed his name to Ellsworth Hudson, an homage to his favorite literary character, and began a life as a male escort which allowed him to support himself and had the added benefit of letting him explore his intense Betazoid sexuality. Two years of functioning as a trophy (and other things) left him feeling hollow and much less fulfilled than he’d anticipated, so he was encouraged by Starfleet acquaintances to turn to the stars in hope of finding grand adventure.
Starfleet History Ellsworth enlisted with Starfleet at the age of 18; he was shipped to the Medderix basic training facility on Deneb V and completed boot camp with no small amount of difficulty. Advanced Crewman Training (ACT) brought him to Kyoto for logistics and accounting training with instructors from the Starfleet Materiel Supply Command. Ellsworth completed his training and received a two-year degree in logistics at the end of 2389. His first assignment was to the USS Galileo to serve as its quartermaster.
Medical History Ellsworth has an unremarkable medical history. His health was monitored and treated as a ward of the state while on Betazed, and he was tested regularly for sexually-transmitted and other diseases on Risa.
